The new year 2017 starts and meetings take place, today we are meeting experts which are already friends after so long trying to standardize HVDC grids...it is coffee time in the VDE Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies, hosting the 22nd meeting of the CLC/TC8X/WG06 "System aspects of HVDC Grids" in Frankfurt (Germany) on the 19th January 2017.

The objective of this working group (WG06) is to describe the basic principles of HVDC Grids with the focus on near term applications, to develop functional specifications of the main equipment and controls, guidelines and a set of parameters to be used in a multi-vendor environment.

The "Draft for Voting" document is almost ready. We will keep everybody informed through the website about the progress and dates of the 1st release.
